What is a Living in God’s Love Weekend?
It is a Weekend at your church to help people grow as Christians by looking at their relationship with God, themselves and others.
It is led by a team of visiting lay people who will share how they have grown on their Christian journey. In most cases the ideal time to have this is about two years after the Sharing God’s Love Weekend. However, if appropriate, it could be the first Lay Witness Weekend for a church. This is more of a teaching Weekend than the Sharing God’s Love Weekend, with some Bible study. We look at our relationships, to God, to ourselves, and to others, and church members are asked to make practical decisions in the light of these discoveries.

What results are expected?
Through discussing bible passages, individuals begin to discover the extent of God’s unconditional love and learn to value themselves as they look at their personal worth. By examining the life of Jesus people begin to understand what a love-style life means for them and how they can live it. Weekends have brought improved relationships in churches and individual lives.
As a result of a Living in God's Love Weekend, individuals begin to realise more fully the extent of God's unconditional love for them and they begin to value themselves more highly. This is followed by a better understanding of others, and resulting in improved relationships, both within the church and in their everyday lives.
Church members who share in a Living in God’s Love Weekend often experience a deepening of their Christian lives as they come to understand Christ's love-style life, and as they begin to take responsibility, under God, to put it into practice in their lives.
What happens after a weekend?
The Weekend is not an end in itself. Plans will need to be made to build on the benefits of the Weekend. A follow-up course ‘Our Life in God’s Love’ is available from the Lay Witness Movement at no cost.
